Ever heard of it? I hadn’t until yesterday. My Jewish friends are in the midst of celebrating Purim and several posted these cookies yesterday. I was intrigued and had to give them a try!
They were just as delicious as they looked. If you have never made these cookies, you have got to try them!! That lovely buttery flavor with orange was amazing!
The recipe I used was from Tori Avey. Recipe and info will be found here . Her recipe and instructions were awesome.
I made a few modifications of course- I decreased to sugar from 2/3 cup to 1/2, butter from 3/4 cup to 1/2 cup 2 tablespoons, and the flour from full all purpose to subbing in 1/4 cup whole wheat pastry. No noticeable differences whatsoever! They were so flavorful and tender!
You make the dough, roll it out and form as shown on Tori’s website.
I filled my cookies with Polaner apricot preserves. It was so good with the orange infused dough!! I had to force myself to stop at 3 cookie!!
