Okay, this is going to be the very easiest dessert I think I’ve ever shared with you. Seriously, the most simple! I’m using it for some of the end of the year school things I’ve signed up for, life is kind of busy right now!I needed several quick treats and this was one of the fastest I could come up with!
I started with store bought puff pastry dough. Let it thaw, it takes about 10 minutes outside the fridge and out of box.
I rolled the puff pastry out just a little, although it wasn’t necessary.
Brush each sheet with melted butter. Leave 1/2 inch on top and bottom without butter
Then sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
Fold the sheet of puff pastry over on itself .
Crimp unbuttered edges.
Cut into 1/2 inch strips. Twist each strip, as shown in photo.
Place on a parchment lined baking sheet.
Baked until golden brown.
From here you can eat them like we did, or if you want, you can glaze them.
Next, sit back and enjoy!
Simple Cinnamon Twists
- 1 box puff pastry sheet found in freezer section at grocery store, near ice cream.
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- Thaw puff pastry dough.Preheat oven to 400 degrees. I like to use convection on my oven, if you have it, use it!Open packages and spread the puff pastry sheets. I rolled my sheets a little more thin, but you definitely don't have to. Mix sugar and cinnamon in small bowl and set aside. Brush pastry with melted butter, leaving 1/2 inch on top and bottom unbuttered. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar over buttered section. Fold puff pastry over on itself lengthwise. Crimp unbuttered edges together. Cut into 1/2 inch strips. Twist each strip. Place on parchment baking sheet.Bake until golden brown. You can glaze your twists, but I chose to leave them mine as they are. Sit back and enjoy. You'll love this super simple dessert!
