Cut the angel food cake into cubes. Set it aside.
Cut the strawberries into chunks or slices. Set them aside as well.
Mix together the cream cheese, sugar, lemon zest, and vanilla. When it is creamy, add in the heavy cream and mix on high speed until it is well incorporated.
Start layering the trifle, beginning with the cubed cake. Then add a layer of the cream cheese, berries, cake, cream, and berries.
Once you get to the top, decorate as you like, or use my example. I like to let it sit for at least an hour or even overnight before serving.
It will hold well for up to 2 days.
