How to cook brown rice

Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown rice
  • 2 ¼ cup liquid this can be water or broth
  • ½ teaspoon salt if you like your rice a little more salty, use 1 teaspoon. Watch the salt content in your broth if you are using it.

Instructions

  • Bring the water and salt to a boil.
  • Add in the brown rice, cover, and reduce heat to low.
  • Cook for 45 minutes. Remove from heat, but let the rice sit for about 5-7 minutes covered.
  • Fluff with a fork and serve.
