Servings: 6 cups
- 1 loaf rye bread or 4 rye bagels
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.
Thinly slice the rye bread- when I say thin, I mean as thin as you can.
Cut it into the shape you are using- I cut mine into triangles.
Place them on the prepared baking sheet. Brush with the olive oil. Mix together the spices and lightly sprinkle them on the bread.
Move the baking sheet to the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes.
Let them cool completely and serve as you like.
- How use rye chips:
- Snacking: Enjoy homemade rye chips as a crunchy and flavorful snack straight from the oven.
- Salad Topping: Crush or break homemade rye chips into smaller pieces and use them as croutons on salads for added texture and flavor.
- Soup Garnish: Float homemade rye chips on top of soups to provide a delightful crunch and enhance the soup's flavor.
- Dipping: Serve homemade rye chips with your favorite dips and spreads for a sturdy and tasty dipping option.
- Charcuterie Board: Include homemade rye chips on a charcuterie board to add a crunchy element alongside cheeses, cured meats, and other accompaniments. I love these with Swiss cheese or blue cheese.
