If you are looking for a quick-to-make salad dressing for your next salad, I have just the recipe for you. This Easy Red Wine Vinaigrette can be made in about 5 minutes and only uses 5 ingredients!

    Why Make This Dressing

The flavor of red wine vinegar is so good in a salad dressing! I love this blend of flavors and it is so good on so many salads.

As the name of the recipe states, this is an easy recipe to make. I know it seems like an extra step when you are already busy preparing dinner, but 5 minutes is all this will take you!

This is a simple recipe with simple ingredients. One of the best things about making your own dressing is you know exactly what goes into them. No ingredients you can't pronounce or have no idea what they are.

This dressing holds well for 7-10 days! Double the batch and you are set for the week.

    Ingredients

    • Olive oil- you can use any other oils you like, but olive oil is my go-to
    • Red Wine Vinegar- It is vinegar made by fermenting, straining, and bottling red wine. It is a popular vinegar in Mediterranean cooking.
    • Honey- you can use any sweetener you want, but my favorite for dressings is always honey.
    • Dijon Mustard- you can leave this out, but I like to use it. I like the flavor it adds, but also because it is an emulsifier. That means it keeps the oil and vinegar from separating.
    • Salt- it only takes a touch, but it is important!

    How To Make

This dressing could not be any easier to make! Combine all ingredients in a bowl or mason jar (my preferred method).

Mix it well. If you are using a bowl, I like to use a whisk or fork. If you are using the mason jar, screw the top on it and shake it well.

Honestly, that is it. Once you start making this dressing, you will never stop!!

    How To Use This Dressing

Salads are my favorite way to use the dressing.

Start with your favorite greens, add some vegetables, fruits, seeds, nuts, cheese, etc.

If you don't like greens, you can also use this in just a veggie salad or even fruit salad. It is sweet, but not too sweet. Perfect for use.

You can also use this as a marinade as well. Chicken is my favorite meat to marinate it in, but pork is really good too. Make sure and marinate for at least 4 hours for the best flavor.

    Other Salad Dressings I Love

I have quite a few salad dressings I like, so try some of these others as well.

Creamy Apple Cider Vinaigrette is such a great dressing that goes well on fall salads. It is also really simple to make!

The go-to dressing that I use ALL the time is my Maple Poppyseed Dressing. It is a great blend of balsamic, maple, and poppy seeds.

Another one that is a favorite for late fall and winter is my Citrus Balsamic. It is so good and has a combination of flavors you might not have thought of!

    Notes

    1. There isn't too much to note about this dressing, but let me share a few things.
    2. There are a lot of types of red wine vinegar, so try a few and decide. I use Pompeiian Red Wine Vinegar. It is easy to find, and pretty inexpensive.
    3. This dressing will hold well for 7-10 days, just make sure it is stored in the fridge in an airtight container.
    4. I made this with honey, but you can use other sweeteners if you prefer. If you are vegan, swap it out for granulated sugar, sucanat, or even maple syrup. You can also use agave nectar, but it isn't my favorite.

Can I use something other than olive oil?

You can use any oil you like, just make sure it is a neutral-flavored oil.
