Are you looking for a refreshing drink for hot summer days? This Cooling Strawberry Mango Agua Fresca is calling your name!

What Makes This Agua Fresca So Good?

The combination of mangos and strawberries is really what makes this drink irresistible. It is cold, refreshing, and the perfect summer drink.

What is Agua Fresca?

Agua frescas are delicious drinks that are made of a few simple ingredients. They contain water, fruit of choice, lime juice, and some type of sweetener. Because there are so few ingredients, this drink comes together quickly and with minimal work, and is easy to make and enjoy anytime!

Ingredients For The Cooling Strawberry Mango Agua Fresca

  • Fresh mangos- I used champagne mangoes, but if you have another preference you can totally use those. You can also use frozen mangos if you like, but as these are in season right now I wanted to use them fresh.
  • Fresh strawberries- I do not recommend using frozen strawberries in this recipe, I just don't think they taste as good as fresh.
  • Fresh lime juice- this is a staple in agua frescas, so I couldn't resist adding it here.
  • Honey- you can use any kind of sweetener that you like, but I wanted a refined sugar-free drink so I went with honey.
  • Water and ice- This one seems kind of obvious but I'm going to add it anyways.

Step-By-Step

  1. Prep your mangos and strawberries. Cut them up and prepare to blend.
  2. Add the strawberries, mangos, water, honey, and lime juice to your blender.
  3. Blend until smooth. I use a Ninja Blender that I love!
  4. Fill your cup with plenty of ice and pour the agua fresca over top.
  5. Garnish however you like, and then enjoy!

How Long Will The Agua Fresca Stay Good For?

I don't feel like the agua fresca holds very well for any more than 3-4 days at the most. These are fresh fruits, so they won't stay good for a very long time. Make sure to keep them in the refrigerator and chilled the whole time.

Notes For The Cooling Strawberry Mango Agua Fresca

  • You can make the agua fresca ahead of time. Make sure to keep it in the fridge, and then take it out before you are ready to serve.
  • I prefer using fresh fruits in this recipe, but you can definitely use frozen. However, I usually have better flavor and results with fresh fruit.
  • If you desire, you can use any other sweetener in this recipe. If you don't like honey you can use granulated sugar, coconut sugar, monk fruit sweetener, or even sucanat sugar.

Health Benefits Of Agua Fresca

There are lots of great things about agua fresca. Because a lot of it is fresh fruit, you get all of those nutrients in the drink.

For example, in this drink, we used mangos and strawberries, which contain a ton of vitamin c, potassium, and antioxidants. Agua frescas are low-calorie, which makes them a great drink to enjoy anytime.

FAQ Agua Fresca

What is agua fresca made of?

Agua frescas are fruit drinks made of blended fruit, lime juice, water, and a sweetener.

Are agua frescas mexican?

Yes, they are very commonly found in Mexico, as well as the rest of Central America.

How long will it last for?

My preference is 2 days, but you can hold for up to 3-4 days. The fresh fruit in the agua fresca will not last for long.

Do you have to sweeten the agua fresca?

No, if you prefer not to, you do not have to add a sweetener. The fruits are sweet on their own and absolutely delicious, but I do like a little bit of sweetener in mine.
